“I love the academics largely accomplished in 3 days. I love the low-stress environment. Our young kids don’t need to feel "pressure" and stress. Ye,s they need to learn the academic skills of studying, testing, completing assignments, etc, but not in a big, pressure-filled way.
I love the small group. While it can be tough socially when it’s very small and there does seem to be a lot of daily 'drama' amongst the 5th-6th graders, it also feels safe and like some level of drama is just inherent in the age. “As we got ready to send our oldest daughter to Kindergarten, I struggled to send her into the public schools, even though my husband and I are both educators. I didn't want her to deal with the constant standardized testing, frequent interruptions to learning during the day, etc.
